Jimmie was a graduate of Statesville City Schools and served his country in the Army during the Korean War. On January 23, 1993, he married Carolyn Land, who survives. He was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church. He was retired from Allied Waste Sanitation where he was a truck driver and dispatcher.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Carolyn; a son, Jimmie Lee Anderson Jr; a daughter, Donna Sue Elliott; a grandson, Franklin Lee Anderson; and a great grandson Brandon Lee Anderson. He is further survived by five brothers, two sisters, four step-children, and four step great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service with military honors for Jimmie will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. The family will meet with friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home prior to the service.
