MRS. NELIS BROWN OF MERIDIAN

Mrs. Nelis D. Brown of Meridian, Miss., the former Frances Buckley, died at 3:30 a.m. today in a Meridian hospital. A resident of Memphis until moving to Meridian about 10 years ago, Mrs. Brown had had a heart ailment for a number of years and suffered a stroke last night. She did not regain consciousness before her death. She was 61.

She was born in Memphis, daughter of Mrs. H.L. Buckley, and the late Mr. Buckley and in Memphis had been a member of LaBelle Baptist Church. She was also a past worthy matron of McLemore Avenue Eastern Star chapter 265.

She had a wide circle of friends in both Memphis and Meridian. Her husband is vice president of Hardin Bakeries in Meridian and she also leaves three sons, Edward B. and Harry D. Brown of Memphis, and Thomas O. Brown of Denver; her mother, Mrs. H.L. Buckley, and her brother, H.W. Buckley, both of Memphis, and six grandchildren.

The body will be at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian thru tonight. Services probably Wednesday afternoon at National Funeral Home in Memphis. Burial in Memphis.

Wife Of Bakery Offical Dies In Meridian

Mrs. Frances Buckley Brown, wife of Nelis D. Brown, vice president of Hardin Bakeries in Meridian, Miss., died at 3:30 a.m. yesterday at Riley Hospital in Meridian after a heart attack. She was 61.

Services will be a 2 p.m. tomorrow at National Funderal Home with burial in Forest Hill.

Born in Memphis, Mrs. Brown moved to Meridian about 15 years ago. She was past matron of McLemore Avenue Chapter
No. 265 of the Order of The Eastern Star and a past mother advisor of McLemore Rainbow Assembly No. 7. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meridian.

She also leaves her mother, Mrs. H.L. Buckley of 1036 Palermo; three sons, Edward B. Brown of 695 Lucille, Harry D. Brown of 5341 Millbranch Road and Thomas O. Brown of Denver,Co., and a brother, H.W. Buckley of 1036 Palermo.

Mrs. N.D. Brown, 326 24th St., died at 3:30 a.m. Monday at Riley's Hospital.

The body is at Stephens.

Mrs. Brown had spent most of her lfe in Memphis, Tenn., but had resided in Meridian for the past 10 years. A member of the Firt Baptist Church, she was affiliated with the Eastern Star chapter at Murfreesboro, Tenn.

She leaves her husband; three sons,Edward B. and Harry D. Brown of Memphis; Thomas O. Brown, Denver, Colo; six grandchildren; mother, Mr. H.L. Buckley and a brother, Harry W. Buckley, Memphis.

Early Tuesay morning the body will be taken to th National Funeral Home at Memphis for services Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
