Hi mother, Hannah Amlin, received a Mother's Pension, due to advanced age and disability of husband, Samuel Amlin. Two sisters of Alfred are mentioned in the pension file, Amy A. Amlin Lindemuth and Elizabeth. Mr. H.C. LaRue of Chariton, Iowa, wrote a letter to the pension department in 1924 asking about Alfred's service and his mother's birth and death dates on file.
