Edward J. Stasik, of West Scranton, died Saturday morning in the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit. He and his wife, the former Marion Sahara, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary Oct. 14.

Born in Clarence, he was the son of the late John and Anna Kadjeski Stasik. The family later made their residence in Scranton, where he was educated and was in the first graduating class of West Scranton High School in 1944. He also attended Penn State University and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army in the European theater of operations. Before retirement, he was employed as a printer for Herff-Jones Printing Co., Scranton. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, West Scranton.

Also surviving are three children, Ruth, Scranton; Paul and wife, Jeane, Leland, N.C.; and Laure, Scranton; three grandsons, Christopher, Thomas and Paul Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Briana; a sister, Rita Demyan and husband, John, Lomita, Calif.; a niece and a nephew.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment, SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit, 746 Jefferson Ave., 18510. Arrangements by the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave.
