Civil War Confederate Officer. "Tell them at home I die fighting in defense of my country and for the honor of South Carolina" were the words of this Charlestonian after he had been mortally wounded at Gaines's Mill, Virginia. At the grade of Captain, Boag was commanding Company I, Gregg's 1st South Carolina Volunteer Infantry when he was felled. He was 26-years old.
