She was born and raised in Chicago, Il and married her first husband, David Spencer Childs in 1913. The marriage was short lived and in December 7, 1917 she married the love of her life, William Summers. From all family accounts they had a good life together and doted on their pets (cats). The couple did not have any children. They resided in St Petersburg, Florida in later years.
Note: While all census records indicate Pearl was born in Chicago in 1919, in a Cook County Court, she gave a court deposition with her Mother and sister, Mabel stating she and Mabel were born in South Dakota, not Chicago. Her mother, Elizabeth Pfrang also testified to this. The proceedings g was regarding Mabel's marriage annulment to Edward Gall.
