George Alger, 50, who resided two miles below Scottsburg, was fatally burned Sunday night when an overturned lamp set fire to his clothing. He died at the Dansville hospital on Monday.

Mr. Alger was alone in his home when the accident happened, and as he endeavored to secure help to extinguish the flames, he rolled in the snow. William May, a neighbor, was attracted by his call for help, and wrapped an overcoat about him to smother the flames. He carried him back into his home, placed him in bed and went to summon assistance. When he returned he found the bed clothes on fire, but this blaze was easily extinguished.
