Edward Barber Died Sunday At Cushing

Edward Franklin Barber, 81, 417 Osage, died at 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning at Cushing Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health several months and was removed to the hospital Monday.

Mr. Barber was born Jan. 10, 1871, in DuPahe [sic: DuPage], Ill. and was the only son of Franklin and Adelaide Barber. He was married to Miss Anna D. Covert on March 5, 1895 in Illinois. They moved to Leavenworth in 1913.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Wallace of 723 Olive, Mrs. Carrie Closson of Glen Burme [sic: Glen Bunie], Md., and Mrs. Martha Barnett of 800 South Third; three sons, Royal E. Barber of Wichita; Franklin A. Barber of Kansas City, Mo., and Charles E. Barber of Kansas City, Kas.; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Duff Wagoner, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Muncie Cemetery. The body will remain at the Sexton Funeral Chapel until the hour of services.
