Galesburg Paper Galesburg, Illinois, 4 February 1944: CHARLES B. CANSLER SERVICES ON SATURDAY Rites for Charles B. Cansler, 246 West Simmons street, whose death which was attributed to cancer, occurred Wednesday night at 7:30 o'clock at the home of a daughter in Chicago, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kimber and West Mortuary and where friends may call tonight. Burial will be at Memorial Park.

Mr. Cansler, a landscape gardener, had resided in Galesburg 14 years, coming here from Long Lane, Mo., his home for almost a half century. He was born near Princeton, Ind., March 12, 1876. His marriage to Laura Adeline Rains took place at Buffalo, Mo. He was a member of the Christian church. Surviving are his children, Nora Chaney, Garden City, Kan.; Marion, Kansas City, Kan.; Everett, Boring, Ore.; Lydia Gannon, Boring, Ore.; Cpl. Leslie Cansler, at an unidentified army camp; Beulah Rentschler, Jewel Peterson and Wilma Miyler, Galesburg. There are two step-sons, Pvt John and Sgt. Richard Means. There are several brothers and sisters, 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
