In 1913 his name change from Hoare to Harris also created a nickname of Bucky.

William Harris Hoare married Jan. 22 1912 in St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall to Ellen Jane Hosking 1893-1980

His first job was at B.F. Goodrich but later retired in 1957 from Goodyear Rubber Company after 25 years service, in Plant 1 spreader room. He served as a school guard for the church of Annunciation and was a professional boxer in the Golden Gloves arena. In 1919 he went to Pittsburg to work in the Steel Mills for Edgar Thompson Steel and in 1920 he represented that city in a 7 man boxing team that went to New York and won the welterweight division.
He worked as a school patrolman for five years at Arlington and Exchange Street
