Ethel was born in Dunbar, Pa., to Albert and Effie Schwenning. She was a longtime resident of the Akron area.
Ethel was the beloved wife of the late Thomas G. Ash, and was also preceded in death by brother, Robert, and sister, Dolores. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and John Fry of Sarasota, Fla., Judith and George Locher of Wadsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Rose Schwenning; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
