He married Clara Jane[Myers] in Shelby Co. Ohio on July-1-1886.
J. Elmer Dill, a well known and respected citizen of this city died very suddenly Friday evening about 8 o'clock while sitting in a chair, from a stroke of paralysis. While Mr. Dill had previously suffered two similar strokes, his health seemingly was as good as usual and his sudden demise came as a great shock to the friends and relatives.
Mr. Dill was born in Ohio and was 63 years of age and with his family came to this city about 15 years ago from Lima, Ohio. To within a short time of his death he had held the position of District Superintendent of the Ohio Oil Company but at the time of his death was on the retired list of that company. He had been employed with them for the past 33 years.
He leaves to mourn his death a wife Clara, two sons and three daughters, as follows Dr. Roger L. Dill of this city, O.V. Dill of Caddo, Texas, Miss Fern Dill of this city, Mrs. O.V. Sellers of Lima, Ohio, and Mrs. L.E. Bell of Clintonville, Pa. Also three brothers and two sisters J.B. Dill of Kansas City, Mo. Wilson Dill of Anna, Ohio, Charles Dill of New York City, Mrs. Richard Cannon and Mrs. J.E. House both of Waupuckinatt Ohio.
