Ray Anthony Alexander, resident of Lago Vista, Texas, was called home by our Heavenly Father on October 5, 2013 at the early age of 51. Ray was born on January 16, 1962, in New Braunfels, Texas.

Ray served his Country in his very early teen years being enlisted in the United States Marines.
In 2003 Ray began a working relationship with Haynes-Eaglin-Waters, LLP (HEW) contracting company during the construction of Austin's new City Hall Building. In 2007 Ray's willingness and dedication to his work earned him the first-ever position in HEW of General Superintendent & Security Hardware Specialist, cultivating some of the most successful projects in the company's 25-year history. His faith and love of the Lord was valued by his HEW family as much as his work ethic. Ray had a tendency to remind those around him that "The love and Grace of Jesus Christ is all we need to succeed in this life."

Ray spread that message and his love of the Lord to those that needed to hear it most through his work in Prison Ministry through the Bill Glass Ministry Champions for Life organization and his Rolling Hills Community Church (RHCC) family. Ray enjoyed a very special relationship with his Pastor, Gary Olsen, referring to him as "Sensei". It was through his church family that in the year 2000, Ray became certified as a Lay Speaker through the United Methodist Church (Southwest Texas Conference). In 2002, Ray became a Small Group Leader and Trainer through the Stephen's Ministry's Christ Care program. In 2003, Ray enrolled in Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and became certified in Digital Cultural Ministry. This certification played a large part in Ray's involvement of RHCC's creation of their contemporary worship service. Ray was very involved in the media aspect of the church's worship services and programs. Ray also took part in the formation of the church's praise band, Soul Objective, and was a backup singer for several years. Ray served on the church's Administrative Board in years past.

He loved taking the "boyz" for rides in his truck and had a passion for gardening and growing exotic peppers. He loved to cook!

In addition to his wife, best friend and soul mate of 26 years, Angela Rury Alexander, Ray is adoringly survived by his 7 children: Charles Taylor, Vanessa Guzman, Angie Alexander, Michael Alexander, Sheila Riffle, Colt Riffle and Joshua Alexander, as well as his 16 grandchildren; his 2 sisters: Nancy Prickett, (husband Brian Prickett) and Jerilynn Johnson, and several nieces and nephews of Columbia City, IN; uncle Joe S. Espinoza (wife Gloria Espinoza) and his aunt Margarita E. Gonzales, and numerous cousins of New Braunfels, TX. Of course you can't forget this man's 4-legged sons (aka "Daddy's Boyz") Gizmo and Sampson.
Ray was greeted in Heaven by his beloved mother: Maria Louisa Silvas Espinoza, as well as his uncles John S. Espinoza, Albino Espinoza Jr. and Antonio S. Espinoza. He also received licks, prances and tail-wags from his pug Frank and pit bull Buddy.

Needless to say, Ray was a tender-hearted family man that cherished the times spent surrounded by his beautiful family. Ray welcomed any occasion that he could to fill his home with friends and family and even a stranger or two to cook up a storm for them. No one ever left the Alexander home hungry, or empty-handed of left-overs.
A time of gathering will be held to joyously celebrate the life of Ray Anthony Alexander on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2pm at Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista. Ray's recommended attire would be t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops (aka "chanclas").
