George Anderson, 91, Sexton Court, Campbellsville, son of the late William Thomas Anderson and Ida Jane Cave Anderson, was born in Taylor County March 21, 1896. He died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 1987, at his home after an extended illness.
He was a member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Gas Transmissions.
He united in marriage to Sallie Colvin on June 24, 1920, who preceded him in death June 12, 1987. To this union one daughter and one son were born: Doris Anderson and Elwood Anderson, both of Campbellsville. He is also survived by one granddaughter and three grandsons, Mary Whitlow, Greensburg, Kenny Anderson and Woody Anderson, both of Campbellsville, and Jimmy Anderson, Danville; two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons, Jenny Lynn Anderson, Melinda Hope Anderson, David Lee Anderson, George Mitchell Anderson and Robby Lewis Anderson, all of Campbellsville; four step-great-grandsons, Josh Gaines, Danville, Chris Kelly, Josh Kelly and Aaron Anderson, all of Campbellsville; two half-brothers, Clinton Tharp, Campbellsville, and Clem Tharp, Elizabethtown; several other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Reason Anderson and Jim Anderson.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Ron Ferree. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenny Anderson, Woody Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Roger Whitlow, Mike Humphress and Dr. Harold Wilkerson.
