ANDERSON CAR HURLS MAN TO HIS DEATH

Strikes Victim on Bridge as He Steps From Before Interurban Train.

ANDERSON, Ind., Sept. 18. -

William Allen, 40 years old, was struck by a north-bound city car on the bridge across White River on the North Anderson line about 9 o'clock tonight and injured so seriously that he died at St. John's Hospital an hour later. He gave his name and stated that he had a wife and four children living a mile and one-half south of Elwood.

The city car was driven by Motorman Charles Painter, who said a south-bound Wabash car passed just as his car approached the bridge and that the man stepped on the track directly in front of his car and but twenty feet away. The car struck him with great force, hurling him from the bridge. The injured man was brought to the city on a car and removed to the hospital, where it was discovered that his collar bone was broken and that he had sustained internal injuries.
