Passed away on December 29, 2008. She was born to Lenore (Hurley) and Floyd Holser in Los Angeles. Growing up in the Miracle Mile area, she attended Los Angeles High School and U.C.L.A. where she met many of her life-long friends. At U.C.L.A. she earned a degree in Art History with an emphasis on Renaissance Art. Her passion for art led to her starting the Docent Council at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and her participation in the formation of a similar council at the Armand Hammer Museum of Art. She was also a teaching assistant and grader at Marlborough School in the subject of AP Art History. Other among her achievements, she served in the Junior League of Los Angeles, and was a trustee of the New School for Social Research and the Otis School of Design. Kathy was married to Robert Howard Ahmanson, who predeceased her in 2007, for 53 years. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Maryann Gilcrest and Patricia Buehler. Kathy and Robert had three children: Karen Hoffman, Robert Ahmanson and William Ahmanson, plus seven grandchildren, all of whom survive her.
