Ms. Baptiste was employed as a supervisor and billing clerk for Saperia Orthopedics in Taunton for the past 17 years. Previously, Ms. Baptiste was employed as a medical billing clerk for Aprhia Healthcare in Avon.
Ms. Baptiste resided in Taunton for the past 25 years.
A devoted and dedicated mother to her children, she was a volunteer for Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading in Taunton; was a volunteer for the Amatuer Athletic Union basketball team that her son was a member of and supported and attended all of her children's activities and events. She will be lovingly remembered for her love for her entire family.
In addition, she enjoyed reading and the peace and tranquility of sitting on a park bench with her fiancé in Newport, R.I., watching the sailboats for countless hours.
In addition to her parents, she leaves her fiancé: Fernando Leal of Taunton; three children: Arianna N. Walker of Taunton; Brevan M. Walker of Taunton and Emily C. Leal of Taunton; two stepchildren: Samantha N. Leal and Katelyn A. Leal both of North Attleboro; her maternal grandmother: Julia (Dalton) Larkin of Norton; a special uncle, Patrick Larkin and his husband, James Dorsey, of Norton along with the entire Leal family whose unselfish dedication and help during Sheila's illness was paramount and several additional aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
She was the sister of the late George J. Baptiste.
Friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home — the national historic Col. Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home — the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Burial will follow in Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Norton Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ms. Baptiste's name may be made to Sheila Strong, c/o Crescent Credit Union, 951 County Street, Taunton, MA 02780.
