John was the son of Henry and Mary Alice Best Comley. About 1903 he married Josephine Boehmicke and they had four children: Mary, Earl, John and Dorothy. John worked as a foreman at a brass company and as a brass finisher. He died of pneumonia following burns received in an accident.
