Ted Bowen, 90, Malvern
Funeral services for Ted Alexander Bowen, 90, of Malvern were held October 19 at the Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern. The Rev Tony Pulatie officiated, with burial in Malvern Cemetery.
Mr Bowen passed away October 16, 1990, at his home.
He was born January 13, 1900, in Douglas County, Kansas, the son of Walter and Emma Largent Bowen. He attended the North Grove school in the Hastings area, and on January 1, 1931, he married Florence Stevenson in Logan.
Ted was a lifelong farmer in the Malvern and Hastings areas. He was a member of the Malvern Methodist Church, the Malvern Masonic Lodge, the Mills County Horse Thieves (Rural Fire Department), and the township election board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife Florence, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
JoAnna Perkins was the organist at the funeral service. Pallbearers were Douglas Bowen, Rodney Hunt, Mark Bobbitt, Truman, Hardy, Ward Hunt and Harold Skerritt.

He attended the North Grove School in Hastings, Ia, area during his youth. On Jan 1, 1931, he married Florence Stevenson in Logan, Ia, and was a life-long farmer in the Malvern and Hastings area.
Ted was a member of the Malvern Methodist Church, the Malvern Masonic Lodge, the Mills County Horse Thieves (rural fire department) and the township election board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, four brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife Florence, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were held Friday, Oct 19, 15 Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern with the Rev Tony Pulatie officiating. Burial was in the Malvern Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Douglas Bowen, Rodney Hunt, Mark Babbitt, Truman Hardy, Ward Hunt and Harold Skerritt. Bernice Bowen and Mae Babbitt were on the flower committee, and Mary Anna Hunt tended the registry book. JoAnna Perkins as organist and Sher Bowen as vocalist provided musical selections of "In the Garden," and "One Day at Time".
