Standard-Examiner (Ogden, UT) - November 23, 2006. Deceased Name: Keith D. Allen. WASHINGTON TERRACE, Keith Don Allen spent special time on his last day with his wife of 63 years, each of his five children, and family, and then passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Washington Terrace Health Services Care Center. Keith was born on December 6, 1917 in Morgan, Utah to Bert and Norene Olsen Allen. He was the fifth of six children. He attended school in Morgan, graduating from Morgan High. He then attended Weber Academy in Ogden. Keith married Lena Allen on June 2, 1943 and was later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 18, 1954. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held the position of Scout Master for eight years. He was also a Sunday School teacher and worked with the youth in sports on ward and stake levels. Many people who grew up in Washington Terrace have fond memories of Keith coaching them in little league baseball. Keith's favorite passions for his spare time were fishing and hunting. He was a member of a group called the Ruptured Rangers, a group of men from Milton, Utah who enjoyed hunting and their time together. His family has very fond memories while growing up of Sunday drives and picnics. These drives somehow always seemed to involve his favorite fishing holes in Weber Canyon or any fish hatchery he may have been able to find.

Keith worked for W.T. Grant Company for ten years and then went on to work for Hill Air Force Base, where he retired after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Lena; five children, Judy (Harvey, deceased) Drysdale; Larry (Kathy) Allen; Bill (Pat) Allen; Janet (Allen) McCoard; and Chris (Bart) Smith. He has 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Also surviving are one brother, Gale Allen and sister-in-law Edna Mille. He had two special cats, Laddie and Areial and a very special pet dog for 18 years that he loved named Mutley.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, one brother, one son-in-law and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. The family wishes to thank the staff at Washington Terrace Health Services for all the love, care and support they have given Keith and the family for the past three years. They would also like to thank Vista Care and some very special employees there, Nick, Mindy, Dan, and Jared. E-mail condolences to the family at: lom@lindquistmortuary.com
