Son of Samuel Whiteman & Phobe Reed. Grandfather of 2nd Lt. George Allison Whiteman (Whiteman Air Force Base in Knobnoster, Missouri, was named in honor of George.)
John Clinton was orphaned at an early age and raised by Henry Stewart and wife Susanna (nee U/K). If you have any info about this Stewart family or Samuel and Phoebe Reed Whiteman, please contact me. John Clinton was the ranch manager for the Casey Ranch in Henry Co, Missouri for many years.

OBIT J. C. (John Clinton) WHITEMAN from The Sedalia Democrat, Friday, January 16, 1914
(From Wednesday's Daily) J. C. Whiteman, aged 58 years, a farmer, who has resided for several years four miles west of Sedalia, on R. F. D. No. 8 died this morning at the family home. Death was due to Bright's disease.
Mr. Whiteman is survived by a widow and the following children: Miss Fay Beulah [s/b Beulah Fay] Whitemand, Mrs. William Rogers, of North Moniteau avenue, this city, and John and Jewel Pauline Whiteman, residing at the far home.
Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Baptist church in Valda at 11 o'clock Friday morning.
