Wilma June Dayhuff, 81, resident of Spencer, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at her residence.

Born July 12, 1926 in Martin County, she was the daughter of Rev. Robert P. and Melissa (Jones) Hawkins.

She was an owner/operator of Dayhuff Pet World for 15 years in Templeton, IN. She also owned Wilma's Beauty Shop for ten years.

Mrs. Dayhuff was the first woman school bus driver in Benton County. She was a member of the Shiloh Wesley Chapel, and she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a ham radio operator and an EMT.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony J. ( A. J. ) Dayhuff and wife, Brenda of Pine Village, IN and John B. Dayhuff and wife Teresa of Lafayette; five daughters, Rebecca A. Woerner and husband Don of Templeton, Rita M. Young and husband George of Burlington, Malissa J. Mitchell and husband Ronn of Pacifica, CA, Suzan Dayhuff of Spencer and Mary Ann Burton and husband Tony of Oxford; one brother, Robert Hawkins and wife Doris of Shoals; one sister, RuthAnn Meyers and husband John of Washington, IN; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hubert W. Dayhuff; two brothers, Alton Hawkins and William Hawkins; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2007 at Shiloh Wesley Chapel. Pastor Diane Wells will officiate. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday December 3 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiloh Wesley Chapel, Riley Hospital or The Make A Wish Foundation.

Arrangements were made through West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
