Obituary for Mrs. Anton Anderson -Unknown Date and Newspaper
Once again has the angel of death visited our community , Saturday, January 17th, near the noon hour calling Mrs. Anton Anderson, age 68 years, 11 months and 6 days.
Deceased was born in Jamshog, Blekings, Sweden, February 11th, 1862 the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Swan Olson. At the age of 21 years she came to America spending the first few years in Omaha. Later she moved to Wahoo, where she was united in marriage with Mr. Anderson, October 13th, 1887.
This union was blessed with nine children; Mrs. Hilma Herrmann, of Osceola; Mrs. Selma Peterson, of Stromsburg; Oscar of Osceola; Herman of Shelby; Mary, Albert and John of Osceola, and Wilmer of Omaha. One child died in infancy in 1893. Beside these children, she leaves to mourn her departure, two step children, to whom she was practically a mother, namely Albin Anderson and Mrs. Emma Nyquist, both of Osceola, also eleven grandchildren, two sisters residing in Jamsborg, Sweden and one brother in Stockholm Sweden.
The family has remained practically intact through all the years and this departure is almost the first break in a singularly happy family life. Mrs. Anderson was of a very humble and quiet disposition; had always been a hard worker on the farm and only after moving to Osceola in the fall of 1927, did she begin to take life a little easier. The family moved from Saunders County in 1897 to their farm. three miles east of Osceola. They affiliated with the St. Paul Lutheran Church as charter members in 1903, and Mrs. Anderson has always taken a great deal of interest and an active part in church activities.
Her place will be greatly missed in the home, the family circle, the church and the community .Her life was benediction of thoughtfulness for her children, and all around about her. The husband and all will receive the condolences due at the end of so beautiful a life as was that of the departed. For her, Jesus went to prepare mansions and her place is assured in that better world, free all sorrow and difficulties.
Funeral services were held from the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the remains laid to rest in the Osceola cemetery. Rev. Paul Melin delivered the last words of comfort to the sorrowing ones. From a distance there were present at the funeral, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Ceresco, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Barry of Wahoo; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Erickson of Wahoo.
