Glenda Lea Albertson, 49, of Tuscumbia died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, at her home. She was born April 11, 1948, in Iberia to Glen and Alma Huddleston Ballard. They survive in Tuscumbia. On Jan 14, 1967, in Columbia she was married to Lonnie Roy Albertson who survives at the home.

Mrs. Albertson and her husband have owned and operated the Cree Mee Freeze in Eldon for the past 20 years. She was secretary to the Tuscumbia R-3 Board of Education for 24 years. Mrs. Albertson also has been a foster parent for 12 years and was active in the AFS program for many years. She was a member and actively involved in the Tuscumbia First Assembly of God Church.

Others who survive include three daughters, Jeana Stevson of Eldon, Jodi Gregoire of Tuscumbia and Melissa Albertson of the home; a son, Eric Albertson of the home; two brothers, Michael Ballard of Richland and Douglas Ballard of Columbia; and her maternal grandmother, Millie Huddleston of Iberia.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Tuscumbia First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Barry Eisenhart officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery near Kaiser under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home of Iberia. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tuscumbia High School Glenda Albertson Scholarship Fund.
