He married Maudie Mae Thomason on Nov 7, 1963, in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Emerson was retired from the City of Oklahoma City after working 18 years with the street department and 21 years with the water department, where he was a supervisor.
Survivors are wife of 46 years, Susie of the home; four sons, Kenneth Emerson Jr., Mark Emerson, and Rodney Emerson, all of Oklahoma City and Wesley Emerson of Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Natalie, Kendra, Christle, Robbi, Kenny, MacKenzie, Bo, Rodney, Megan, Meleah and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Baylee, Nadie and Brooklyn; two sisters, Pauline Higgins of Oklahoma City and Carlene Taylor of Marble City; one brother, James Emerson of Chickasha; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
He was proceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Beverly Sue Emerson, one sister, Wanda Martin, four brothers, Thurman, Gene, Keith and Felix Emerson and one half-sister, Lou Honeycutt.
Funeral services will be Saturday Feb 6, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating.
Burial will be at Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Viewing is Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feb 5, at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
