Special Police Officer Dies in Local Hospital

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Dannel Funeral Chapel for J. W. Booth, 77, special police officer. He died Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. at a local hospital, He was a native of Sulphur Blurff.

Rev. C. J. Graves, Methodist minister,will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be Vernon Brown, Johnny Burleson, J. L.Garmon, James Talley, D. L. Jefferson and Bobby Bell. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Booth came to Sherman from Nocano 11 years ago. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Booth, and his wife is the former Miss Lora Kean of Vernon. He was a night watchman in the Sherman business district. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stanley R. Booth, of Forth Worth and J. W. Booth Jr. of Sherman; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lobdell of Lake Charles, La., Mrs. B. A. Duncan and Mrs. Howard Smith, both of Sherman, and Mrs. Ody Edgar Jay Jr. of Sherman and seven grandchildren
