Elbert Esco Barnes was the son of Narvey Roscoe and Sallie Lou Beck Barnes and the grandson of Elihu James "Huey" and Samantha Adaline Self Barnes.
Elbert's siblings include: John D., Clyde J., Billy L., Paul James, Frank H., Addie Montree "Mrs. J.B. Booth", Jack, Olin Ray, Albert Roscoe and Virginia Lois Barnes.
On July 16, 1939, Elbert E. Barnes married Ruby Booth in Woodstock, Cherokee County, GA.

E.E. Barnes, 79, of Marietta died Friday.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at New Home Baptist Church in Woodstock, with the Revs. Vernie Worley, Bobby Daniels and J.V. Chastain officiating. Burial will be in New Home Baptist Cemetery.
A Tift [should say Cherokee] County native, Mr. Barnes lived most of his life in Marietta. He was a retired press punch operator for Lockheed Martin Co. and a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda White of Ballground and Nancy Elrod of Canton; four sons, Ernest Barnes of Kennesaw, David Barnes of Snellville, Dennis Barnes of Greenwood, S.C. and Tony Barnes of Cartersville; one sister, Montree Booth of Kennesaw; five brothers, Jack Barnes of Woodstock, Paul Barnes of Canton, Clyde Barnes of Marietta, Bill Barnes of Lithia Springs and Frank Barnes of Ellijay; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends all day today at Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta.
