Robert L. Issinghoff
Robert L. Issinghoff, 79 died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Windthorst to Harry and Cecilia Duesing Issinghoff. He married Emma Lauris Hornung on Sept. 30, 1946, at Windthorst. She survives.
He was raised on a farm northeast of Windthorst and graduated from Windthorst High School in 1940. In 1946 he and his wife moved to the original Issinghoff homestead, where they lived until his retirement in 1990, when they moved to Spearville. He was a farmer/stockman.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bishop Hennessey Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and the Spearville Hospital Board, all of Spearville; an honorary life member of the K of C St. Leon's Council No. 2462, Windthorst; and a member of the Ford County Soil Conservation Board. He was also active in the Windmiller's Trade Fair.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dr. Chad Issinghoff, Hutchinson, and Giles Issinghoff, Wright; one daughter, Lydia Salmans, Ulysses; three brothers, Clinton, Dodge City, Stanley, Wichita, Wendell, Russellville, Ark.; two sisters, Gladys Werner, Buhler, and Maxine Durler, Gardner; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Buscho and Alvina Torline; three brothers, Floyd, Jerome and Harry Jr., and one grandson, Kyle Issinghoff.
The funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Church, with the Revs. John Maes and Robert Schremmer presiding. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Windthorst.
