Urah Mae Altman, of 1418 Park Street, Findlay, passed in her sleep just 2 days before her 91st birthday, with her loving family by her side Friday, September 17, at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Michaels Church, east, on Monday, September 20 at 10 a.m. with Father Adam Hertzfeld officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 19, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Routson Funeral Chapel.
She was born September 20, 1913 to Adam and Minnie (Seif) Sell in Holgate, Ohio, they are deceased. She married Joseph H. Altman, November 26, 1931 at the St. Mary's Church in Holgate, he is deceased.
She is survived by daughters, Katherine "Doty" Yates, Brooklyn, Mi; Dally DeWood (Dale) DeVene, Findlay; Joanne (Bill) Peters, Millbury, Oh., and a son James (Margaret) Altman, Sun City, Az. She had 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-grandchildren (sic). She was preceded in death by a grandchild Randy Peters.
Urah lived in East Toledo for most of her married life. During the winter months she would travel to Arizona with her husband. She was an avid card player, loved making Rhubarb and Elderberry pie, and was very proud of her tomato plants. There are many many memories from when the family would visit the cottage in Brooklyn, Mi. One of them would be when she would fry up whatever size fish you would catch.
She was a member of St. Michael's Church and its Altar and Rosary society, a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Altar and Rosary, Toledo.
Her biggest accomplishment was raising her four children.
