AKRON, Ohio - Alpha A. Berg, 94, passed away Aug. 20, 2002, in Akron. Mrs. Berg was born April 14, 1908, in McCausland, Iowa, and lived in the Davenport area until she was married and moved to Akron. Her school nickname was "Hard Boiled Egg." She was a member of AARP, Akron Metropolitan Hiking Club and Girl Scouts of America.
She is survived by daughter, Sandra Plummer, sisters, Lois (Bud) Hitchcock and Phyllis Fletcher, sisters-in-law, Nancy Dreschler and Hertha Hildebrand, special grandchildren, Niecey, Faith and Fluffy, and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, brother, Kenneth Dreschler, brother-in-law, Elmer Fletcher, son-in-law, David Plummer, and sisters-in-law, Toni, Marie, Thekla and Hulda.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, with Pastor David L. Scharf officiating. Burial will be Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home noon until service time. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N.
