OBITUARY, Shelbyville [IN] News, Tuesday, October 6, 1970:
Arlie Brewer Dies At Home
Arlie R. Brewer, 80, of R.R. 2, Rushville, died today at 5:00 a.m. at his home. He had been ill five years.
A retired farmer, Mr. Brewer had resided in Shelby County for many years prior to moving to Rush County 11 years ago. He was a member of Morristown Lodge No. 193, F. & A.M. and Shelby Chapter No. 20, R.A.M.
Born near Iola, Ill., on Aug. 20, 1890, Mr. Brewer was the son of Peter and Lydia (Sanders) Brewer. He married Eva Wicker in 1910 and she died in 1948. On June 20, 1950, he married Clara May Jones, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Hubert Brewer, Morristown, Deane Brewer, R.R. 6 Shelbyville, Ray Brewer, at home, Mrs. Marshall (Edith) Wainscott, Salem, Mrs. David (Mary) Coons, Hamilton, Ohio, and Miss Virginia Lee Sills, Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Moster and Sons Mortuary, Rushville, with the Rev. Robert Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Blue River Wesleyan Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, where the Morristown Lodge will conduct Masonic rites at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
