Dies on Friday, July 8th
The death of Mrs. Sumner B. Douglass, resident of Fairmount, N.D., occurred on Friday, July 8th, at the St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge, after four years of ill health.
Elizabeth Maude Furtney was born on October 27, 1884, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. In 1887 she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Furtney, to Glenwood, where she grew to womanhood. On Sept. 2, 1903 she was united in marriage to Sumner B. Douglass of Alexandria. Mr. Douglass is at this time in the employment of the train service department of the Soo Line at Fairmount, N.D.
Mrs. Douglass was an Episcopalian in faith and was a member of the Episcopal Church at Wahpeton. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Fern Leaf Chapter, Fairmount; and was also a member of the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen of Minneapolis, Minn.
Surviving are her husband and two children, Orville and Mrs. J. Roy Peterson of Enderlin, N.D., her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Furtney of Glenwood, two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Olson of Minneapolis and Mrs. J.H. Carlson of Enderlin, N.D., and three grandchildren, Dorothy, Charles and Robert Peterson.
Interment was made in the Kinkead Cemetery at Alexandria, officiated by Rev. Kempton of Sauk Centre.

MRS S.B. DOUGLASS DIES IN FAIRMOUNT HOME
Word was received in the city Saturday of the death of Mrs. S.B. Douglass at her home in Fairmount, N.D. She had been suffering with a lingering illness for some time and her death was not entirely unexpected. The Douglass family resided in Enderlin at one time and Mrs. Douglass had many friends and acquaintances here.
Funeral services were held at Alexandria, Minn., last Monday.

Mrs. Sumner B. Douglass, Fairmount, Passes on After Four Years of Ill Health.
Final rites were held in Alexandria on Monday, July 11, for Mrs. Sumner B. Douglass of Fairmount, North Dakota, who died in a Breckenridge hospital on July 8. Mrs. Douglass was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Furtney of Glenwood. Interment was made in the Kinkead Cemetery of Alexandria with Rev. Kepton of Sauk Centre officiating.

On September 2, 1903 she married Sumner B. Douglass of Alexandria who is now an employee of 23 years standing in the train service department of the Soo Line at Fairmount.
Two children, Orville and Mrs. J. Roy Peterson of Enderlin, North Dakota survive with their father.
Mrs. Douglass had been in very poor health for the past four years.
She was a member of the Episcopal church at Wahpeton and had been very prominent in lodge work prior to her ill health. She was also a member of the Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen of Minneapolis, Minn., and the Order of Eastern Star, Fern Leaf chapter, Fairmount.
She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Furtney of Glenwood, and two sisters, Mrs. J.H. Carlson of Enderlin, ND and Mrs. J.W. Olson of Minneapolis, and three grandchildren, Robert, Charles and Dorothy Peterson
