Sabra J. (Garrett) Almon, 60, of Lafayette, registered nurse and former dance studio owner, died at 7:25 PM Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. She had been in failing health for several years. Born Oct. 8, 1936, in Owensville, she graduated from Owensville High School in 1954 and received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Purdue University. She had lived in Lafayette since 1964.

Mrs. Almon was a registered nurse in Home Hospital for 24 years, and she was the co-owner of Elite Feet Dance Studio from 1985 to 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She had been an active volunteer with the Home Hospital Fair.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Nearing of Battle Ground and Tim Almon of West Lafayette; her mother, Lillian Garrett of Salem, OR; two sisters, Pat Pearson of Santa Clarita, CA, and Shirley Parker of Salem, OR; a brother, Bud Garrett of Beltsville, MD; also three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bradford J. Almon. Internment services will be at Maumee Cemetery, Johnson, IN.
