Carriage Manufacturer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of German immigrants. After receiving an education in Dayton, Ohio and at St. Xavier College in Cincinnati, he graduated from the Queen City Commercial College and entered the flour milling business. A short time later, he was engaged in bottling beer until he began to manufacture horse drawn carriages in the 1890's. In 1912, his company became the Armleder Motor Truck Company when the popularity of the automobile surged. Ten years later, Armleder sold the company and retired. He was also a noted Cincinnati philanthropist and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. He was married to Catherine Manss Armleder in 1889 and died in Cincinnati in 1935 when he was 72 years old. The Otto Armleder Memorial Park on Wooster Pike and the Armleder School at the Christian Hills Christian Academy is named for him.
