William and Ellen were two of the eleven organizers and members of the Ronceverte Baptist Church in 1877.
He came to Logan in 1915 from Oak Hill where he was in the mercantile business and also a contractor.
He was known for his activity in hunting sports,having been the first president of the Guyan Valley Fox Hunters Association.
He and Mary Ellen Smith of Gap Mills,WV married October 31,1894 and established their home in Alderson.
They had three children Russell,Mabel,Christine.
William died in 1946 in Omar,Logan County,West Virginia

Grandson Jim Foglesong called him Mr.Granddad.
