BURLEY - Glenda Burgess Biggs, age 87, of Burley, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014.

Glenda was born on March 9, 1927, in Springdale, Idaho, to Vera Fern (Dayley) and David Martin Burgess. She had three sisters and four brothers. She grew up in Springdale and attended Springdale School. She was married to Max Mallory from 1944 until his death in 1949. They had two children, Rex (Jean) Mallory and Kenna (Marvin) Owens.

On Feb. 24, 1950, Glenda married her true love, Lyle Biggs. They began their married life in Burley and began to raise their family. Their children are Julie Ann (Brent) Germann, and Marc Lyle Biggs.

Glenda spent many years working in the Cassia County School Lunch program and worked side by side with Lyle at Crawford’s Auto Body and Crawford’s Salvage Yard, which they owned until they retired. Glenda and Lyle spent the next 15 years traveling between their home in Burley and their winter home in Yuma, Arizona.

Glenda loved to sew, crochet, and quilt. Every grandchild has at least one of Grandma’s quilts or afghans. Glenda also loved to fish with her family and spent many family vacations doing just that.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie; son, Rex; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters; her son, Marc; and her daughter, Kenna.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Bishop Kerry McMurray officiating. Urn placement will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

When Aunt Glenda's mother passed away, her dad, David Burgess remarried while Glenda was a baby, and so she was raised by her step mother, Orenia Matlida Dayley Burgess.
