Obituary - The Review-Appeal, Franklin, Tennessee
The remains of Simon Burdett, 21, who was killed in action in Germany on April 4, 1945; reached Franklin Saturday morning on the 9:13 train and were conveyed in the parlors of Warren-Smithson where services were held at 2'o clock that afternoon by elder J.L. Jackson. Interment was in Leiper's Fork Cemetery with services at the grave, in charge of the John E. Stephen's Post, American Legion.
A native of Williamson County, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Burdett, he entered service Janiary 16, 1943; trained at Camp Beal in Cal., and went overseas with the 610th Engineer Regiment in November 1943.
Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Carlton Horner, Mrs. Thomas Jackson and Wiley Burdett, of Nashville and Bennie Burett of Mt. Juliet.
