V. S. Bond, Pioneer, Passes Away Sunday
Vincent Scott Bond, aged 66 years, a pioneer who has spent his lifetime in Lane county, died at his home at 1349 Sixth avenue west Sunday morning at four o'clock. He was widely known and highly respected throughout the county. In recent years he has been in the carpenter business.
Besides his wife he leaves five children, as follow: Mrs. J. M. Cox of Naches, Washington; Mrs. H. L. Gritina of Palouse, Washington; Ralph S. Bond and Mrs. D. W. Harper of Canada; and Lee Bond of Hillsboro. He also left six brothers and sisters, as follows: Mrs. A. Robertson, A. W. Bond, R. B. Bond, Mrs. W. L. Wheeler, Mrs. H. C. Wheeler and Mrs. J. B. parker, all of Lane county.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Branstetter chapel. Rev. E. V. Stivers will have charge of the services. Interment will be in the Luper cemetery.
