Mrs. Mark A. Cadwell
Mrs. Effie Mae Cadwell passed away at her home in Garden City, L. I.. February 12th, after an illness of only a few days. For several years she had been an invalid with a patience that could not be surpassed.
Mrs. Cadwell was born in Westville, November 13, 1866, at the Coats Homestead, being the daughter of Elbert and Lucy A. Coats. She spent her girlhood days there attending school at Brockport. In 1891 she married Mark A. Cadwell, a young lawyer, and their first home was in Buffalo. From there they went to New York where the greater part of their married life was spent. For several years they spent their summers at Westville and winters at Garden City where she passed away.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Mark C. Cadwell, and two grandchildren, John and David; also a sister Mrs. Ella Vanderveer, and a brother, Elbert Coats. There are four nieces, Miss Ethel Vanderveer, Mrs.Calvin J. Upham, Mrs. Arthur L. Greeley and Miss Elizabeth Coats.
The funeral services were held Wednesday, February 14th, at her late home in Garden City with the Rev. George C. Moor, pastor of the Madison Avenue Baptist church of which she was a member, officiating. The body was placed in a vault at Schenevus, awaiting interment in the Westville cemetery.
