*Chico Enterprise-Record (no date): "Rollin Batham. A private service was held for Rollin Batham, 83, of Chico, who died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2001, in Chico. He was born Aug. 18, 1918, in Chico to Oscar and Susie Batham. He attended Chico schools.
"Batham served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He married Margaret Wyckoff in 1941. She died in 1989. He retired after working for 30 years as an operating engineer.
"Batham was a member of the operating engineers, Chico State Alumni, and the Butte County Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and the outdoors.
"Survivors include a son, Norman of Chico; three daughters, Barbara of Chico, Terry of Las Vegas, Nev., and Linda Batham-Cain of Smith River; a sister, Nelda Greene of Willows; and 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
"Memorial contributions may be made to Enloe Hospice and the Butte County Historical Society."
Chico Enterprise, Thursday Evening, April 27, 1944, pg 3: "Lt. Batham Home". Lt. Roland Batham, son of O.R. Batham of Sacramento Ave. is home on a short furlough from Liberal, Kansas. Batham, who has been in the service for 18 months is a pilot of a Liberator.
"Lt. Batham is a graduate of Chico High school and later attended Chico State college. He worked in Weaverville prior to his entrance into the Army Air Corps.
"Mrs. Nelda Mae Davenport, his sister, came from Vallejo to attend a family reunion."
Chico Record, Tuesday, May 29, 1945, pg 5: "Lt. Rollin Batham Liberated in Germany". Announcement was made yesterday of the liberation of 2nd Lt. Rollin Batham, 27, to his wife, Margaret, in Weaverville. The former Chico State College student had been a prisoner of war since January 3.
"Lt. Batham has been overseas since October, 1944, and he entered the service in February, 1943."
