Mabel M. Emmerick, 84, formerly of 101 North Mill
Street, Ridgway, died Friday evening at Elk Haven
Nursing Home following a brief illness.
She was born May 9, 1920 in Peru, Indiana, oldest
daughter of the late Howard and Nora Adams Poague.
She married Frank Anderson, who preceded her in death.
On October 13, 1957, she married Herbert A. Emmerick,
who preceded her in death in October of 1972.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth H. Emmerick and
his wife, Regina, of Ridgway, and James Anderson Sr.
and his wife, Beverly, of Peru, Indiana; nine
grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren; three
sisters, Marjorie Adamson of Sebring, FL, and Mildred
Fry and Betty Denham, both of Peru, IN.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was
predeceased by a son, Howard Anderson; a grandson,
Terry Anderson; a brother in infancy; and a sister,
Mrs. Emmerick had resided in Ridgway for the last 33
years and was a former Pittsburgh resident. She was
Protestant by faith.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside committal service for Mabel M. Emmerick
will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Tuesday at
11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald D. Hake, pastor of the
First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.
Memorials may be made to Elk Haven Nursing Home.
