Mrs. Bessie D. Benner, 335 E. Broadway, died Sunday at the Excelsior Springs City Hospital. She was 67.
Mrs. Benner was born July 14, 1910. at Orrick, the daughter of William and Ada (Covey) Coleman. She had lived in Excelsior Springs most of her lifetime.
Mrs. Benner had worked in numerous restauants in downtown Excelsior Springs before she retired.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary Unit No. 236.
Her husband, Darl Benner, died Sept. 1, 1967.
She leaves a brother, Clarence Coleman, Rayville. A sister preceded her in death.
Services were held at 11 a.m. today at the Prichard Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Powell officiating. Music was by Mrs. Bonita Albertson, organist. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery. (The Daily Standard, Excelsior Springs, MO Tuesday, February 7, 1978)
