Marva Jean Anderson, 65, Indianapolis passed away on January 11, 2013. A 1965 graduate of Shortridge High School, she was a 1970 graduate of Tennessee State University, where she became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She attended Southwest University Law School.

She resided in California, where she was a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church in Oxnard and Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church in Porter Ranch. She was an insurance claims executive for 21st Century Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 2005. She attended Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church throughout her childhood. Upon returning to Indianapolis in 2006, her participation in many activities was restricted due to illness.

Services will be Thursday, January 17, with visitation prior to the service at Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church, Indianapolis. Graveside Services will be January 18, at Washington Park North Cemetery.

Preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn E. Anderson and Marvel E. Hazelwood Anderson, those left to cherish her memory include a brother, Ronald E. Anderson (Dolores); sisters, Andrea D. Anderson and Patricia Anderson Smith and aunts, Alice Hopson, Ann Jackson and Ladye Hazelwood.
