Robert "Bob" Edward Boggs went home to be with his Lord on March 10, 2009, with his wife and son at his side.
Bob was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 30, 1920 to Fred and Nora Boggs. He attended school in Placerville, Calif. and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1940. In 1941, he joined the Army National Guard and served at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Bob and Patricia Stinson of Berkeley, Calif., were married on Dec. 12, 1942 in Salinas, Calif., and spent the next 66 years together.
At the start of World War II, Bob's unit was activated, and in 1943 were deployed to Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines for a total of 33 months.
After he was discharged, Bob worked in various auto repair shops. He landed a job with Caltrans, and continued employment with them for 30 years.
In 1968, Bob and his family moved to Yreka. Bob loved deer hunting, fishing and camping.
Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Laura (Boggs) Libby, his parents and his three siblings.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Yreka; his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Marsha Boggs of Sacramento; his son-in-law Larry and wife, Carol Libby of Richland, Wash.; his grandchildren, Jesse, Joseph, Mathew and Melissa; his four great-grandchildren, Sean, Hannah, Sharon and Lena; his brother James Boggs; and three nephews, Jim, Tim and Jeffrey.
A memorial service will be held at the Hornbrook Community Bible Church on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Marvin Porter officiating the service, along with an Honor Guard presentation. Bob will be laid to rest in the Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Girdner Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with Bob's funeral arrangements.
