She married Henry Excell August 14, 1879 at Marden Church, it being the Church of England. Mormon elders came to their home in 1881, and they were converted to the gospel. Her husband emigrated to Utah in the fall of 1882, and she came the following year in June 1883, bringing her two children with her.
They settled in Panguitch. Here six children were born to this union. All the children except one survive her. They are: Mrs. Nellie Riding, H.G. Excell, Mrs. Mabell E. Hatch, and Mrs. Mae Dodds of Panguitch; Mr. R.C. Syrett of Ruby's Inn; John E. Excell and Dewey Excell of Springdale; and her husband. Also forty-seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
