Son of Samuel BOLLINGER and Isabella GILLILAND. Husband of Anna Elizabeth WATERS.
Dayton O. Bollinger, well known resident of Huntingdon county, who has lived in Mount Union the past two years, having come from Shade Gap where he lived for many years, died at his late home, 232 E. Shirley street, Mount Union, Saturday, May 14, at 12:50 p.m. He had been ill three months and had been confined in hospital and home six weeks before he passed away. Dayton O. Bollinger was born in Blacklog Valley, January 14, 1868, the son of Samuel and Isabel (Gilliland) Bollinger. He grew to young manhood there and on November 3, 1897 he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Waters of Shade Gap. He was a farmer by occupation and his farm was on the very edge of Shade Gap. He retired from farming and moved to Mount Union about two years ago. Mr. Bollinger was a member of the United Brethren church of Orbisonia. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Bollinger and the following children: Moreland W. Bollinger and Robert C. Bollinger of Mount Union; Lester L. Bollinger of Orbisonia; Raymond G. Bollinger of Allenport. There are four grandchildren as well as one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Boyd of Landark, Illinois and one brother, Samuel C. Bollinger, of Blacklog. Funeral services were held at his late home, 232 E. Shirley street, Mount Union, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. William Snyder officiated and interment was made in the Gilliland cemetery at Blacklog. Blatt funeral service.
