Silsbee Rites Are Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia A. Silsbee, 78, of Guymon, who died Monday morning at her home, 512 N. Crumley, after an illness of several months will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Mission church at Hardesty.
Officiating at the services will be Rev. T. L. Taber, pastor of the Assembly of God church here assisted by Rev. J. L. Pleasant, pastor of the Foursquare church in Guymon.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery southeast of Hardesty under direction of the Howlett Funeral Home of Guymon. Friends may call at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Silsbee is survived by two sons, Elmer J. Mattocks of Hardesty and Herman Silsbee of Hobbs, N. M.; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Burgess of Guymon, one step-son, Earl Silsbee of Perryton, Tex., one step-daughter in law Mrs. Mary Silsbee of Hardesty; three brothers, Ed Church of Lawrence, Kans., Ezra Church of Kansas City, Kans., Lewis Church of Kansas City, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. W. F. Kenyon of Phoenix Ariz., and Mrs. Rebecca Grant of Lawrence, Kans., and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Silsbee was born january 8, 1875 in Indiana to Mary and William Isaac Church. They moved to Oshaloosa, Kans., and later to Custer county, Okla.
In 1906 Mrs. Silsbee came to Texas county and homesteaded in the Range community where she lived until 1933 when she moved to Guymon. Mrs. Silsbee is a member of the Foursquare Gospel church here.
