John Junior Allen was born May 13, 1927 in Bixby, Oklahoma. He was the son of Millard Edward Allen and Opal Musser Allen. Junior, as he was affectionately known, passed away at his home on December 31, 2013 in Bixby, Oklahoma at the age of 86.
Junior joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17 during his junior year in high school. He served his country 1 year and 2 months. Upon being honorably discharged he returned to school and graduated with the Bixby High School senior class of 1947. After his senior year, he went to work for Sun Oil Co. as a machinist and retired in 1989 after 42 years.
John Allen and Irene Winsett were united in marriage November 21, 1947 at the parsonage of the First United Methodist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. They are still members of the church and had recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching football, whether it was his children, grandchildren or professional football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard.
