Doris Catherine Schornack was born August 26, 1919, in Groton, SD, to George E. and Olga (Senne) Schornack. She graduated from Groton High School in 1937, and served as secretary to the GHS Superintendent for one year. Doris then attended Marlette Beauty School in Aberdeen before working for two years as a beautician in Redfield and for three years at Nelson Beauty Shop in Groton. On May 4, 1941, she married Donald (Budd) Craig of Groton. While Budd was in the Army, they lived in Minnesota, Iowa and Delaware before returning to Groton where Doris stayed while Budd was overseas during WWII. Doris was very proud of Budd's military service. After the War, they moved to the farm northeast of Groton where they raised their three daughters. In 1960, the family moved into Groton, and Doris began employment with Wells Fargo Bank, formerly First National Bank, staying 23 years until retirement. Doris and Budd spent retirement years traveling to visit Army buddies and relatives. Budd passed away in 1987, and Doris continued to live in Groton until 1999 when she moved to Aberdeen. In 2011, she became a resident of Bethesda Nursing Home of Aberdeen.

During her lifetime, Doris enjoyed hosting family dinners, entertaining friends, playing games and cards (especially Bridge and Tripoly) and fishing with relatives, for which she received several trophy angler awards. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. She was very creative with decorating and made several unique outfits for costume and holiday parties. Her chocolate peanut butter ball candy at Christmas was always a family favorite.

Doris was a 50+ year member of the Groton American Legion Auxiliary, and belonged to St. John Lutheran's Church, Ladies Aid and the Missionary Circle. She enjoyed her memberships in Rip ‘N Ravel Extension Club, the Mr. & Mrs. Dance Club, and various card clubs.

Doris is survived by three daughters, Berdette (Bruce) Zastrow, Carol Eisenbeisz and Barbara Morrissey; brother, Allan D. "Don" (Marilyn) Schornack; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters-in-law Harold & Agnes Schornack and Howard & Harriet Schornack; and son-in-law Kenton Eisenbeisz.
