Born on August 28, 1928 in DeWitt, Iowa, Carrie was the daughter of John and Emma Bertha (Barr) Callahan. She was united in marriage to Vern A.H. Busch on June 30, 1951. He preceded her in death. Carrie worked in the cafeteria with Pleasant Valley School System. She also worked as the Meal Site Manager for CASI. Carrie enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a member of the King’s Daughters. Carrie cherished time spent with family especially her grandchildren.
Those left to honor Carrie’s memory include her three daughters; Rita (Robert) Stackhouse of Urbandale, Linda Busch of Bettendorf and Mary (Brian) Humke of Ankeny; grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Schall, Sarah Chenoweth and Stephen Humke; Great-Grandson, Jack Chenoweth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern; son, Stephen, one brother and one sister.
Carrie’s family wishes to thank the staff at Riverview Manor for the phenomenal care provided to her these past two years.
